A couple has started what they’re calling the “One Dollar Diet Project“. Because of the economy, they have decided to start eating meals that cost only one dollar: to see if they can do it for 30 days. Talk about being cheap! Well, it may be cheap, but it sounds to me like they may just be able to do it.
Christopher Greenslate and Kerri Leonard started the One Dollar Diet Project.
Here are the requirements of the One Dollar Diet Project, which lasts 30 days, if you’re up to doing it:
— All food consumed must total $1 each.
— No free or donated food may be consumed/eaten unless it is available for everyone.
— The cost of food that you plant must be factored into the total amount of the $1 meal.
— You must to cook a variety of different items. For example, ramen noodles can only be prepared if it is otherwise impossible to stay under the budget of $1.
You might go over to your local Dollar general (where everything’s a dollar), or you might even go on over to Wal-Mart to see if you can find items that you can eat for less than $1 dollar.
