This year, since we have always had issues with our family room being cold in the winter months, we have decided to add an electric fireplace to our family room.

We have looked around for months (on and off) to find the right fireplace, and finally decided on a Lennox electric fireplace for this particular location in our family room.

What made us decide on an electric fireplace versus having another type of fireplace such as a gas or propane fireplace or even maybe a traditional fireplace? Well, that is a very good question.

Turns out that some of us in our family have allergy issues to the smoke, especially when it comes to burning oak wood in our fireplace. So, although we all love to have a nice fire going in the fireplace, we end up having to cut those fires short since we all end up coughing, sneezing, and rubbing our eyes. It’s even more difficult on those occasions during the winter when the power is out and we have to rely on a fireplace for warmth.

I also liked this fireplace, but couldn’t find it anywhere so we’ bought the Lennox electric fireplace.

So, even though we are in the height of the holiday season, we have chosen a Lennox fireplace and we will be working on installing this new electric fireplace that we’ve recently bought; luckily the weather is not so cold and we’re not expecting a power outage or bad weather anytime soon.
